Kasey Keeler (Race, Ethnicity, and Indigeneity Fellow, 2021-2022) is one of 10 scholars receiving seed grants from the Ira and Ineva Reilly Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment. These projects show the range of how UW–Madison faculty, staff and students can collaborate with community members to co-create and share knowledge and solutions that will benefit and enrich the lives of the people of Wisconsin, the nation and the world. Kasey’s project, “Mapping Teejop: Indigenous Histories and Presence in Madison,” creates a user-friendly, self-guided story map that allows users to explore (in person or virtually) Indigenous histories of the University of Wisconsin campus and nearby areas, including the histories of the local Ho-Chunk nation and other Indigenous nations.
