Simon P. Newman Receives 2023 Frederick Douglass Book Prize

Simon P. Newman (Solmsen Fellow, 2019-2020; Honorary Fellow, 2020-2024) has been awarded the Frederick Douglass Book Prize for Freedom Seekers: Escaping from Slavery in Restoration London (University of London Press). The Prize, awarded by Yale University’s Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition, will be shared by two scholars. R. Isabela Morales was also awarded the prize for Happy Dreams of Liberty: An American Family in Slavery and Freedom (Oxford University Press). For more information, click here.
