Call for Applications: Reimbursement to attend the 19th Annual Local History and Historic Preservation Conference

Applications are now open for a Reimbursement Award to attend the 19th Annual Local History and Historic Preservation Conference!

The Wisconsin Historical Society’s 19th Annual Local History and Historic Preservation Conference (LHHPC) will be held from Wednesday, October 15 to Friday, October 17 at the Ho-Chunk gaming and conference center in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The theme is “Common Threads: Weaving Stories Across Time and Place”. At the conference, you will be invited to participate in exciting sessions and resources and connect with fellow local history enthusiasts and practitioners. The fantastic keynote speakers will be Bill Quackenbush, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Ho-Chunk Nation, and Melanie Adams, Director of the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum. The Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board’s Professional Development Reimbursement Award can be used to reimburse travel expenses related to attending the LHHPC up to a total of $500. The purpose of the award is to aid the professional development of archivists, individuals working or volunteering at a Wisconsin repositories, libraries, or local historical societies, and students enrolled in Wisconsin institutions of education and higher education. This award is possible through the generous support of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
