Erica Kanesaka (Madeline Doran Dissertation Fellow, 2019–2020) has created both a website and documentary on kawaii culture. The website, cutestudies.com, is based on Erica’s Cute Studies course at Emory University, where she is Assistant Professor of English. The documentary, Kawaii Beyond: Kawaii Culture in Atlanta, Georgia, explores how kawaii culture has been taken up in the local context of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
