Last month, Dragoncillo Puppet Troupe performed Quijóteres, an original, bi-lingual (Spanish and English) adaptation of Cervantes’ Don Quixote de la Mancha as part of the Wisconsin Book Festival. The event was a huge success and delighted both children and adults.

Founded in 2018, the Dragoncillo Puppet Troupe is comprised of five scholars and educators—including Esther Fernández, Biruté Ciplijauskaité Postdoctoral Fellow (2023-2025)—specializing in early modern Spanish literature. Their work unites popular theater, storytelling, and community outreach.
