The Crossroads of Ideas program is teaming up with the Institute for Research in the Humanities for a five-part lecture series that examines philosophical and scientific approaches to big topics, from free will to happiness to morality and more.
Consciousness remains one of the great mysteries in both science and philosophy. Learn from a scientist and a philosopher why consciousness is so puzzling and whether we can make progress in understanding it in the second installment of the “Big Questions” series organized by Larry Shapiro, former IRH Senior Fellow and Berent Enç Professor of Philosophy at UW–Madison. Join us on Tuesday, November 9, at 7:00 pm for an interdisciplinary conversation.
Wisconsin Public Radio’s Steve Paulson will moderate the conversation between philosopher Jorge Morales (Northeastern University) and psychologist Yuri Saalman (UW–Madison) as part two of our five-part Big Questions series.
Crossroads of Ideas events are free and open to the public.
