I highly recommend ‘How things are done in Odesa’ (a BBC World Service podcast). Embark on a rollicking journey through the city’s history while making pitstops to learn more about its place in film, verse, and prose. The contributions of the translator Boris Dralyuk (@BorisDralyuk), himself from Odesa, and of Ukraine-born Jewish writer Isaac Babel (b.1894) are colorful and beautiful and show what a melting pot the city of Odesa is.
