Save the date for Dan Kapust’s Burdick-Vary Talk with Speaker Mauro Caraccioli

Professor Mauro Caraccioli is an authority on empire and early modern thought, focusing especially on Spanish thought and the Spanish South American Empire. He will be giving a lecture on April 25th (time TBD), titled “Savage Pasts, Baroque Futures: Racial Hierarchy and the Political Theology of Spanish Empire.” His discussion of Spanish imperialism will enrich campus-level discussions of empire, race, and political theology in early modernity.
