Barbara Galindo Lecture at Hood College Center for the Humanities

Barbara Galindo (ACLS Postdoctoral Fellow in Race, Ethnicity, and Indigeneity [ACLS Emerging Voices Fellow], 2022-2024) will be giving a lecture at the Lecture at Hood College Center for the Humanities. The lecture is titled “Decolonizing Mining in Latin American Cosmocentric Cinema” and will take place on May 2nd at 5:30pm.

Join us for a reception and screening of the documentary "In the Name of Lithium," which follows the struggle of indigenous communities in Argentina fighting to protect their salt flats from destructive lithium mining. Following the film, Barbara Galindo, Ph.D., will present a lecture on "cosmopolitics" and discuss how indigenous culture plays a key role in ecological activism.
